Help mee bouwen aan een veilige toekomst voor 750 honden
Hulpproject 196 - November 2025
Ingrid Martens has been our contact person for Sasha's shelter for 10 years.
She and our Hanno Berger co-authored the project below.
Essential for the many stray animals in their environment…
Since the beginning of our foundation, Sasha has been committed to helping dogs in need in Nis, Serbia.
He and his team have rescued thousands of animals from the streets—abuses, roadkill, old, or abandoned as puppies.
His shelter always had room for 750 dogs, on a property where they could run and play freely. A magical place for discarded souls.
But now, sadly, the shelter must close permanently.
Sasha never gave up……
Over the years, he was often threatened with eviction. But Sasha never gave up. Because he knew he wasn't breaking the law—he was giving life back to more than 2,000 dogs who had been discarded as if they were worthless.
And now... the inevitable has happened. Urban development is claiming the land. Fortunately, about 500 dogs have already been able to move to a small plot of land Sasha had already purchased.
However, 250 dogs had to stay behind…
For those left behind—often elderly and vulnerable—there's no place left. We hardly dare to say what will happen to them if we do nothing. For them, there's no way out...
Perhaps a miracle after all?...
But... suddenly, a glimmer of hope seems to be emerging for those 250 dogs left behind.
Sasha has been loaned a piece of land where all 750 dogs could live.
But there's nothing there yet: no fencing, no water, no electricity, no shelter. A barren expanse, but with the potential to transform it into an ideal habitat.
What's left for them now... are you. Our loyal followers.
You who—just like Sasha—don't look away.
Ingrid and we are especially grateful to the long-distance adopters of dozens of his dogs!
Biggest challenge ever...
But now we face our greatest challenge ever.
Please help...
We also want to create a safe place for those last 250 dogs - together with the other 500.
To begin with, an indoor fence is urgently needed, such as for puppies and vulnerable animals.
Even though the money isn't quite there yet, they've already started...
And after that, many basic facilities still need to be provided...
Ultimate request...
That is why Ingrid and we are making an ultimate appeal for your important help.
Ingrid guarantees that she will personally ensure that every euro is spent very wisely!

En het leuke is dat Sasha en zijn honden op nog twee andere manieren te ondersteunen zijn;
1) Wordt adoptieouder op afstand
2) Wordt voor 1 euro per maand teamer.
Één euro………
Wat koop je daar vandaag de dag nog voor?
Niets.
Maar als 10.000 mensen dat nou even doen, dan slaapt die man ook weer wat beter.
Tja, Loes als dat zou kunnen…. ?
